The Company was notified on 11 January 2005 that Mr W H Humphries, a non-executive Director of the Company, had purchased 100,000 ordinary 5p shares of the Company (“Ordinary Shares”) at a price of 356 pence per Ordinary Share.

As a result of this purchase, Mr W H Humphries has a beneficial interest in 500,000 Ordinary Shares representing 0.43 per cent. of the Company's share capital.
