The Company was notified on 28 September 2004 that Mr W H Humphries, a non-executive Director of the Company, had purchased 50,000 ordinary 5p shares of the Company (“Ordinary Shares”) at an average price of 317 pence per Ordinary Share.

As a result of this purchase, Mr W H Humphries has a beneficial interest in 400,000 Ordinary Shares representing 0.35 per cent. of the Company's share capital.
